VIDEO FOR STUDENTS

This 25-minute video is designed to help you become familiar with the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA). You’ll watch other students as they prepare to take the reading, mathematics, and writing portions of the PSSA.

The reading and mathematics portions of the PSSA are given in fifth, eighth, and eleventh grades. The writing assessment is given in sixth, ninth, and eleventh grades. All public school students in Pennsylvania, including English Language Learners, must take these assessments.

Video hosts Dino and Zuri will provide you with general information about the PSSA and some test-taking strategies for taking the reading, mathematics, and writing assessments. During the presentation, you will be given the opportunity to discuss and practice the test-taking strategies.

Recorded in English, the video is also dubbed in Spanish. To view the PaELL video for students, contact your local school district.
